You can find Randolph College in Toronto, Ontario, one of the most popular entertainment locations in Canada. It specializes in training for musical theatre and teaches students all the essentials for voice, dance, and stage and screen acting. Students learn about both theory and history, and they can even transfer whatever credits they receive at Randolph to other institutions as part of their journey to earning a BA.

APPLYING TO ATTEND RANDOLPH COLLEGE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Randolph College has an online application form that you must first fill out. It costs $75 to apply, and you are required to provide an up to date headshot (this may not include a costume of any kind). If you have relevant employment or experience in the performing arts, you should include this information in a resume. They also would like proof of high school graduation with a minimum grade of 65% in 12th grade English (you can also provide an equivalent to this). Additionally, Randolph likes to see a recommendation letter from someone like a teacher or mentor.

AUDITIONING FOR RANDOLPH COLLEGE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

After you’ve sent them your application, Randolph will contact you with information about how you should proceed with your audition video. They will also require you to write a personal statement of 200 words. (Please note, Randolph will not be accepting in person auditions until further notice, so you must provide a video.)

Your audition will be assessed for the following characteristics: talent, aptitude, and potential. They want to see that you will be able to handle the demands of the program and that you have the potential to succeed in acting techniques (this includes movement), dance, and vocals.

Randolph notes that they not only value talent, but they require open minds among their students, as well as the ability to successfully collaborate and arrive to class with a healthy work ethic.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Once all of your material has been received by Randolph, the Registrar will contact you to schedule an interview (using Zoom) with someone from Randolph’s audition panel. The panel will take a look at your audition and everything else you have submitted to the school. Then you wait for Randolph’s response!
