Three Different Programs
Students can select from three different programs, including:
– A two-year Performing Arts Diploma: In this program, students will learn techniques related to acting, voice, and dance. This program enables students to develop on a technical level, as well as cultivate relevant personal characteristics. Their physical strength, career-friendly skills, comprehension of the industry, and repertoire of relevant skills will be carefully honed over the two years they spend in the program, and
graduates will be thoroughly prepared to enter their chosen field.
– A one-year Performing Arts Certificate: The Canadian College of Performing Arts’ website describes this program as being “designed for working professionals or those that have completed a relevant post-secondary program” and says that it is a “[one- year] intensive…tailored to [students’ experiences] and needs.” This program is completed in the span of 31 weeks and covers “acting, singing, dance, and career management.” References from field professionals are required, and the program is individualized to meet the specific needs of the student.
– A one-year Applied Performing Arts Diploma: This program involves the creation of stage productions and requires completion of both the Performing Arts Diploma and Performing Arts Certificate. The Canadian College of Performing Arts’ website describes this program as providing “hands-on rehearsal, production, and performance experience” and says that graduates will be able to “[demonstrate] the ability to: develop and create full stage productions, further develop and sustain a role in a play or musical, [and] maintain their performing arts skills in a professional work setting,” among other crucial skills.
